Naked & Famous Denim uses only the most unique and rare denim fabrics from Japan. The prestigious mill in Japan, from which they import all their fabric, is committed to producing only the best (and most expensive) denim in the world. Throughout each step in denim production (weaving, dyeing, finishing…) the mill uses a combination of old school and modern methods and practices. So much culture and history is poured into the fabric so that it can be appreciated by the denim purist.

They keep all their jeans raw and simple. No washes, no embroidery, no gimmicks… just the best fabric in the world combined with modern fits. They have eliminated these costly (and in their opinion unnecessary) after-effects, and have stripped down their jeans to the core essentials. Now true denimheads and newcomers alike can enjoy these special fabrics at a reasonable price.

Brand Introduction vol.45 “Parajumpers”

Parajumpers is a project deriving from the cooperation between Ape and designer Massimo Rossetti, who has many years of experience as a designer of outerwear, and also as an importer of American brands for the Italian market.
A meeting with a serving member of the 210th Rescue Squadron in an ill-famed bar in Anchorage, Alaska provided inspiration for Massimo Rossetti’s latest creation. The result is an extremely innovative outerwear collection with highly technological components, designed above all else to be functional.
Made of hard-wearing nylon, these jackets come with a removable down-padded lining and a fur-trimmed hood. The collar fastens with a hook used in parachuting. On the front lies a large, zippable multi-cargo pocket containing a further three pockets designed for carrying accessories, such as iPods, GPS devices, mobile phones, etc.
“The men of the 210th Rescue Squadron, based in Anchorage, Alaska, are highly trained for extreme rescues and recoveries in the wildest, most remote and hostile corners of the Globe. Whether it be ships adrift at sea, rock-climbers stuck atop a 4,000-meter peak, or submariners sunk at unimaginable depths, these men are called to intervene. They are the PJs – short for PARAJUMPERS. Tough and courageous, they are better trained than any other military corps, but most important, they use their skills and techniques to save lives.

マッシモ・ロッセッティがレスキュー210部隊のメンバーと出会ったのは、アラスカ、アンカレッジの寂れたバーだった。そしてここから、唯一無二の「マスターピース – 逸品」を造り上げるという挑戦が始まった。コート類をメインに構成されたコレクションは、高度かつ先進の技術が結集され、何より機能的であることには、他に類を見ない。
高強度ナイロン製コートには、着脱可能なパッディングライナーと、厳寒地にも耐える毛皮付フードが標準装備。コートフロント部にはジップ開閉式のカーゴポケットと、必携品、例えばiPod、GPSレシーバー、携帯などが収納できるポケットが付いている。

アラスカ、アンカレッジに本部を構えるレスキュー210部隊は世界屈指の救助隊として知られ、極限状況からの捜索及び救助をその任務とする。海洋遭難船舶、標高4000m超の山岳部、深海に沈む潜水艇等、彼らの活動の現場はありとあらゆる場所に及ぶ。敬愛を込めてPJsと呼ばれる彼らは、タフで、勇敢で、あらゆる軍隊を凌ぐほどの過酷な訓練を積んでいる。最高の能力と技術を誇るそんな彼らの使命は、人の命を救うことにある。

For over a decade, I’ve had the opportunity to travel and live in different parts of the world for inspiration. Nonetheless, after having this experience of immersing myself in different cultures over the years while pursuing my career, I found the Japanese to have admirable craftsmanship. Interestingly so, although their labour-intensive garments were impeccable, lager sizes were scarce and hard to come by. It only made sense to start my own. Brand made in Japan, utilizing premium quality fabrics and pieced goods. Thus PRPS was born. I grew up in North Carolina and in Virginia and experienced the simpler things in life. Coming from a logging and hunting family, I appreciated the clothes that were worn when participating in these jobs. There was always a form + function to every detail in the garment. No room for luxury expenditures. A product with a purpose. My father also exposed me to the 70’s drag strip scene early on. And cars are a hobby that I still actively pursue. Working on racecars and participating in that community provides endless influence for the tattered holes, oil stains, and wrinkled creased effects that you see on our product each season.

PRPS is a tool, or voice of things and values I hold dear to myself.

10年以上に渡って、私はインスピレーションを求めながら世界中を旅して訪れる機会に恵まれていた。キャリアを積み重ねつつ、長い間異文化との触れ合いに夢中になりながら、日本には思わず溜息が漏れるほど見事な職人技があることを発見した。面白いことに、努力を惜しまず作り上げられた衣服には非の打ち所がないのだが、大型サイズの展開に乏しく、自分に合ったサイズの入手が困難であった。それならば自分で作れば良い。日本製のブランドには最高級の布地を使用され、丁寧に作り上げられていく。こうしてPRPSは誕生した。ノースキャロライナやバージニアで生まれ育った私は、飾らない生活環境に身を置いていた。ロッジ経営や狩猟を嗜む家に生まれ、服とは、それぞれの仕事にとって目的に適しているべきであると理解していた。衣服には細部にわたって常に「カタチ＋機能」が確認出来た。ただの贅沢な浪費の余地は全く無い、目的を携えた商品。私の父は70年代にドラッグレースへよく連れて行ってくれた。この車に対する情熱は今でも趣味として持ち合わせている。数々のレースカーと出会い、そういったコミュニティーに参加することは、私にとっての際限無い影響を与えてくれた。デニムの擦り切れた穴、オイルの染み、しわとなった折り目といったかたちで、私たちの毎シーズンのコレクションでその一端を見受けることもできるであろう。

PRPSは道具、若しくは私自身が大切にしているモノや価値の代弁者である。

自由奔放なカルチャーとアメリカンライフスタイルのクラシックでノスタルジックな理想像を最大限に。
