Q1. Please tell us about yourself in 3 sentences.

I love to travel and see different cultures.
Although I do not have people skills, I love people.
I always carry a camera with me.

Q2. What was your intention for your work at the store?

When I came to the city 3 years ago from Hawaii where I spent 16 years, I was shocked by this city’s energy, people, buildings, etc etc. Everything is 180 degrees different from Hawaii.  Then I started taking photos on the streets like all the tourists do.  It has been 3 years but I still can’t stop taking photos on street, the city still amazes me.

Q3. Do you have any projects that you are currently working on?

Not right now. But I am planning a couple of projects now.  I am very interested in people and cultures which I’ve never seen before with my own eyes.  I am planning a visit to a certain community of people, hopefully this fall.

旅行をして人や文化に触れるのがすき。
People skills は無いが人がすき。
いつも必ずカメラを持ち歩いている。

Q2. 当店にある作品について、制作の意図を聞かせて下さい。

３年前に１６年住んだハワイからニューヨークに移住してきた時、ハワイとは１８０度違うこの街の全てにショックを受けました。そして全ての観光客がするのと同じように街の写真を撮り始めました。それから３年経ったいまでも街は僕を驚かせてくれるのでストリート写真はやめれません。

Q3. 現在取りかかっているプロジェクトはありますか？

今は無いですが計画中のプロジェクトがいくつかあります。僕は今自分の目で見た事の無い、自分の理解が及んでいない人の文化に非常に興味を持っています。今年の冬前までには会ってみたい人種の人たちを訪れるために計画中です。

今自分が計画している事にすごくワクワクしています。もっともっといい写真が撮れるように頑張りますのでよろしくお願いいたします。
